truth or dare

Photography by Sean Doolan on 35mm film

I'd like to share a little bit of truth with you, surface my imperfections and give you a piece of myself I've been holding back. A lot of us choose to only share the pretty on social media and there's nothing wrong with that. But I crave the ugly too. I want to see the flaws under it all, the good stuff that make us human.

I am a freelance model and blogger and all of the traveling and photo-shoots are real. But what you don't know is that for three nights, forty hours a week, I'm in scrubs working at a children's hospital. I'm sometimes up for 30 hours straight between nights at the hospital and mornings on set. I'm a college student, working on a bachelors degree too. These are the things I've chosen to keep close to me and not share with you, because until now, I thought I'd maintain the pretty picture I've painted. Though working with sick children is the most rewarding and humbling thing I've ever experienced and I love what I do, it's not the lifestyle many long for. I want you to understand that there's beauty in the imperfections and the ugly, the things you may think are undesirable to some may inspire others.

I dare you to expose yourself, to share a little ugly with the world.
