Whimsical Wild Bird Baby Shower

We celebrated our third baby girl last weekend, with our sweet friends and family.
I wanted to do a wild bird themed shower, but without the bird houses and bird sculptures.
I love how everything turned out, and so sad the weekend flew by as fast as it did.
Read on for details on the bird seed take away for guests, sunbutter vegan cake,
and a picnic-esque tablescape to lean into the wild bird theme.

A few details I loved and wanted to point out, the charcuterie cups
were a hit and so much fun to make - they allowed our guests to grab
and mingle while they snacked. I also made kids cups, with a cheese stick,
animal crackers, an applesauce pouch and fruit bar.
We made the sandwiches the morning
of with chicken salad from Trader Joes and tuna salad from Whole Foods,
wrapped in unbleached parchment paper and a tooth pick!
I made the arrangements with floral frogs and fresh florals from Trader Joes,
I wanted them to look as though I picked them morning off before the picnic - and I love them.
We added a grapevine wreath to the front door, with greens tucked into it.
Donuts made from scratch by my sister in earthy flavors like chai and berry - so yum!
Not on the table was a charcuterie board, extension of the cups, potato salad,
bean chili in a crockpot for easy prep / maintenance and was so yum on a cold day!

The cake is from a local bakery, vanilla cake with cake butter frosting and
I added a pile of fresh blackberries and dried lavender on the top.

We also gifted our guests with loose bird seed as a thank you for coming.

Candles for Labor: I also asked our guests to bring unscented natural candles,
I’ve lined them on our fireplace and they will be lit during my home birth.
They feel like warm hugs and support from my closet people, and I love looking at them.

If you’ve read any of my other party blog posts you’ll know my go to party trick
is grabbing coffee travelers from Starbucks for guests to enjoy -
we did the same for this shower, especially since it was crazy cold here in Florida.

I couldn’t find a lot of inspiration for this, so I hope if you’re looking for a wild
bird themed shower you’ve found some inspiration here.
I didn't want tree stump plates, or birds scattered throughout and I think we nailed it.

We can’t wait to meet our baby bird, Wren next month.
